Tourist Trophy: The Real Riding Simulator™ isn’t just about motorcycle racing: it’s also about getting everything right, down to the minutest detail. The bikes, the tracks, the physics, the AI riders— everything in this game is spot-on. Which is great, but there’s always a catch. In this case, the catch is that ultrarealism doesn’t come easily. You’ll have to tune your bike, tweak your riding form, learn each course front and back, and understand (and embrace) the differences between one motorcycle and another. And once you’ve done all that, you’ve still got to put that knowledge to work on the racetrack. That probably sounds like a tall order—and it is! Nobody can accuse this game of being easy. Success comes with experience, and we can’t put that in a book. But we can get you on the right bike for each race, show you how to tune your bike and riding form, and point the way through every challenge. Along the way, we’ll show you how to unlock everything this game has to offer. We think you’ll fi nd this book an invaluable companion to the game. So kick back, dig in, and start learning. It’s a long path to success, but you’ve just taken a big fi rst step in the right direction. Controls & Game Modes Let’s start with the basics: What game modes does Tourist Trophy: The Real Riding Simulator offer, and how do you control your bike? When you know this, you’re ready to dive in and test the waters. CONTROLS Optional Braking Controls (Pro Mode) Control Button Front brake only p Rear brake only r The following tables explain the game’s controls: You may also press p + r in Normal mode to brake. This engages both front and rear brakes but gives more brake to the rear. Controls In Pro mode , p fi res the front brake, and r fi res the rear. You must balance the braking load yourself, based on how hard you press each button. Control Button Steer Left analog stick Accelerate Right analog stick 8 or u Brake Right analog stick 2 or p * Shift up R Do you need to use Pro mode to race well? Absolutely not. You can get through the entire game with your brakes set to Normal. Try each mode and see which one you prefer. Shift down L Lean forward l Rear brake r Change view t *Normal mode The braking system controls differ slightly between Normal and Pro modes. In Normal mod e, p engages both brakes simulta- neously, automatically balancing the braking load between the front and back. Pressing r in Pro mode engages only the rear brake.
